France put further distance between themselves and Austria
Les Bleus secure comfortable Nations League victory
Kylian Mbappé and Olivier Giroud were on target as France eased to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Austria in their Nations League clash at the Stade de France on Thursday.
The result means that France have now won three of their four Nations League matches and are top of Group 1, while Austria remain bottom with just one point from their four games.
Mbappé opened the scoring for France in the 23rd minute, finishing off a fine move involving Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembélé.
Giroud doubled France's lead in the 35th minute, heading home from a corner.
Austria had a few chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to find a way past the French defense.
